Our Story
WHAT IS Pho?
WHAT MAKES PHO
healthy?
PHO [pronounced fuh] is the Vietnamese national dish. Pho was born in Northern Vietnam during the mid 1880's. Pho is served in a bowl with a specific cut of white rice noodles in clear beef broth, with slim cuts of beef (flank, brisket and eye round steak). Variations feature tendon, tripe, or meatballs in southern Vietnam. The broth for beef pho takes around 12 hours to prepare and is generally made by simmering beef bones, oxtail, flank steak, charred onion, charred ginger and spices. Pho has captured the fascination of people from all over the world because of the appeal of its distinct and layered flavors.
A comforting bowl of pho contains everything you'd want in a soup. Pho is a very nutritious dish as it's made with a rich beef bone broth that has numerous health benefits for your body, including your immune and digestive systems, and your bones and joints. It's also contains healing spices such as coriander and anise, along with nutritional value from bean sprouts and nutrient-rich herbs. Pho is a great source of protein, which is vital for your bones and muscles, and is often served with lean cuts of meat or seafood. Of course, it also includes the perfect portion of rice noodles leaving you feeling satisfied, but not uncomfortably full.
